2021 Players Book Update:

We are less optimistic that we will have a 2021 Players Book, but please check back in a month for our latest update.

Please note that books will be available for pick up at Harvey Penick Golf Campus (HPGC) PGA Tour superstore and Golftec locations.

This book offers over $1,000 in savings on greens fees and carts at many local Austin golf courses. All proceeds go to youth development programs hosted by The First Tee of Greater Austin—so before your round, please make sure to thank the course for their participation in the 2020 Players Book!

The book owner is entitled to play each golf course listed for a reduced rate of $25 (except Plum Creek G.C. & The Golf Club at Star Ranch). This includes greens fees and a cart. See the 2020 courses below.

Thank you very much for supporting The First Tee of Greater Austin, through the Players Book. Proceeds from the book provide the necessary funds for us to provide The First Tee golf and life-skill program to over 1,400 kids in our after-school, weekend and summer, winter and spring break programs, and another 5,000 students in our various outreach programs.

Needless to say, we are in unprecedented times, everyone is having to adapt. The good news is golf has proven to be a great socially distancing activity and we all seem less concerned about our score and more appreciative of the opportunity to get outside and enjoy the walk (or ride). Country Clubs, in particular, have become a safe haven for their members and while folks are not traveling (for business or pleasure) they have had record rounds. They have also become more restrictive of their guest policies. Great Hills, a Players Book supporter since the book’s inception is one of those clubs. I discussed with Larry Harper, General Manager the situation and I am passing along the email I received from him on August 8, 2020. —Jennifer MacCurrach, Executive Director

With the constant changes in operating guidance from the local and state authorities, we have seen a substantial increase in member activity at GHCC.  In response, the Board has implemented safety protocols to protect members as they visit the Club which includes limitations on guests.  As a result of the concerns about health, tee reservation access, cart availability, and heightened use, GHCC will need to suspend access by the First Tee Player’s Book holders.  This will be in place until October 1, at which time we will review the play trends and state/local regulations, and following this review, make appropriate adjustments.

GHCC has been and continues to be an active supporter of The First Tee of Greater Austin and we appreciate the positive impact they have had on the youth in our community.  We also appreciate those who participate in the Player’s Book program and their contributions to this great organization.  To help offset the restrictions during these months in 2020, the Club will develop an equitable extension into 2021, to ensure the value of their investment in The First Tee is not diminished.  This will be communicated, once our community has a more stable set of operating parameters. Thank you for understanding our difficult position and we hope for the best as we move into the future of Austin and Great Hills Country Club.   Best regards, Larry Harper General Manager Great Hills Country Club
